Why book a science party?

Learning and fun go hand in hand as your child sees magical colour changing potions, exploding balloons and giant clouds of mist.  They will also get to try hands on activities like making their own sweets and setting off pop rockets. Almost 3 million people work in STEM careers in the UK and this number is set to grow.  Astronomer, materials engineer, pyrotechnics specialist; who knows where a love of science could lead you?

Why book with Explosive Science?

At Explosive Science all of our party leaders are qualified teachers who are fully DBS checked.  As qualified teachers, your party lead has a knowledge of the curriculum and so can make links to topics covered in school to create richer experiences.

Through our booking partners you can book your whole party including personalised cakes, party bags and allergy friendly buffet food.  Let us take care of everything and you can enjoy spending quality time building memories to last a lifetime.

We are also the only science party company to include dry ice demonstrations as standard.  Our dry ice is sourced through a local company who use recycled CO2 so as not to contribute to global warming.  We also plant a tree for every party held, so the 2-3 kg of CO2 released during the party is offset by the 10kg absorbed every year by a new tree.

An hour of messy, noisy fun to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Half an hour before the party starts your scientist will arrive to set up all of the equipment for the party.  After donning our lab coats, we will spend the next hour with a mixture of demonstrations and hands on activities which will entertain the birthday party.  We'll inflate balloons, create party poppers and blow out the birthday candles, all with the help of science.

After the party, your scientist will clear the space, leaving only great memories (and maybe some sweet treats).

What can I expect from a science party?
04 /

All of the demonstrations and hands on activities at an Explosive Science party are completely safe and your child's safety is our first priority, closely followed by fun!

In our demonstrations we use small quantities of chemicals which could be hazardous but at Explosive Science we believe that knowing how to recognise and manage risk is a crucial life skill.  The dangers of chemicals are explained before they are used and children will not be in contact with any hazardous chemicals. The hands on experiments do not involve any hazardous materials.

Are any of the chemicals or demonstrations dangerous?

Do I need to provide anything for the party?

All you need to provide for your party is a space large enough for you guests and a 3m long table.  Dry ice effects will be reduced by wind, but a sheltered outside area or a small hall are perfect locations.

Let us remove the stress of planning: Explosive Science themed party bags, personalised cupcakes and full sized birthday cakes are available at checkout to add the extra touches to your child's special day.

How long is a science party?

Half an hour before your party, your scientist will arrive at the location of your choice.  Demonstrations and activities will fill the next hour before everything is cleared away, leaving nothing but huge smiles on the children's faces.
